With the collections for spring/summer 2012 Paris Fashion Week drew to a close yesterday. And the designers once again came up with all sorts of fanciful ideas for their shows.

Paris Fashion Week starts next week and we’re already eagerly anticipating the first womenswear collection by German label blaenk.

Swiss menswear label Strellson came up with an idea for an unusual 3D illusion. Gregor Wosik, street artist and trompe-l’oeil specialist, created a huge optical illusion on canvas for the floor of the Düsseldorf flagship store at Königsallee 11.

Ela Holscher, the Düsseldorf advocate of avant-garde fashion and supporter of young, creative talents, is bringing back her reopened ELA selected clothing store, this time in a new location in Düsseldorf’s Unterbilk district.

A few days ago the temporary Adidas SLVR/Porsche Design Sport satellite store opened in the heart of Düsseldorf’s Old Town. Guests including art collector Julia Stoschek, as well as Gabriela Holscher and Antonio di Marco, owner of the legendary Düsseldorf Ela Selected stores, flocked to the opening to cast a glimpse of the A/W 2011-12 collections.

It’s that time again: the Niyma pop-up store is back! It was recently voted by WeAr Magazine as one of the best shops! After its “Spring Awakening” event, the multi-shop happening “Niyma & Friends” is taking place on 1 October to celebrate the appointment of the North-Rhine Westphalian capital Düsseldorf as a Fairtrade Town.

This week the Dutch gentleman’s style journal ‘Fantastic Man’ is showing a five-part fashion film series, in which figure skaters – dressed in Prada in yesterday’s film, and today in Hermes – show off their skills in extreme slow motion. The clips come from Amsterdam artist duo Lernert & Sander, who have gained worldwide renown with their subversive video and installation art.

And when it comes to tomorrow's event at the Replay store in Düsseldorf in the Heinrich-Heine-Allee 53, all we can say is: save the date! The evening kicks of at 7.30pm in the historical Wilhelm Marx House, and goes on until 11pm.
