Tomorrow evening it's finally happening: Vogue Fashion’s Night Out is taking place for the first time in Düsseldorf. In the streets around the Königsallee the stores taking part will have all kinds of special offers and limited editions for an unforgettable shopping experience. For example, traditional Swiss company Victorinox – inventor of the 'Original Swiss Army Knife' product icon – in its first German flagship store, will be showing the 'Remade in Switzerland' capsule collection, developed in cooperation with the designer and London shooting star Christopher Raeburn.

So macht Shoppen jetzt noch mehr Spaß: Seit Anfang des Monats gibt es in Hamburg nun den ersten Shop für „grüne" Frauen- und Kindermode in der Eppendorfer Landstraße 98. „Love it green" wurde gemeinsam von Katharina Salm und Gisela Köller ins Leben gerufen und zeigt einmal mehr, dass Fair Trade Mode nichts mit mittelalterlichen Sackgewänden aus kratzigem Stoff zu tun hat.

From today a cheerful Hermès parade in the shop window of Berlin's KaDeWe will be brightening the shoppers' day on their way to the main entrance. Designer Sarah Illenberger, whose work can also be admired in the Gestalten Space, sets the traditional Hermès icons in scene with humour and a lot of creativity.

‚The Knit Monster‘ by Sibling
The exhibition 'Wool Modern' is stopping over in Berlin. From 4. until 15. October Galeria Kaufhof on Berlin's Alexanderplatz will be all about wool. Filling the shop windows and on all floors of the Berlin departments store the curator Charlotte Lurot will be designing the presentations modelled on the London example.

Montréal Fashion Bureau: 'Espace Ephémère'

The Montréal Fashion Bureau, founded in 2009, has organised an event entitled 'Espace Ephémère' for the Jean Paul-Gaultier exhibition in the Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA) where a select group of Montreal fashion designers will exhibit their designs. In the accompanying video one can see that their hometown certainly deserves the title of 'UNESCO City of Design', which it was awarded five years ago.

On a Sunday morning in Düsseldorf's Hotel Nikko, J’N’C met up with London-based German fashion designer Markus Lupfer, who, as part of the Fashion Net Night, had shown his short film "The Puzzle of the Mysterious Mind" the previous night, which presents his resort collection for 2012.
Herr Lupfer, you were invited by the Fashion Net Düsseldorf initiative, whose objective is to boost Düsseldorf as a fashion location. What impression do you have of Düsseldorf?
