Gender equality? It might already exist on paper – but what about inside our minds? Amrei Andrasch and Dea Dantas asked themselves this question for their thesis in communication design. And the result is a web project entitled “Entschubladung”, which translates as “Thinking outside of the box”.
In the animated trailer we meet Alex: a naked modular character who can be a man, woman – or both at the same time. He can be given sexual characteristics and different professions, resulting in a hybrid creature with the most diverse of features. He will definitely put a smile on your face in a very charming way. The motto is: pubic hair instead of allocating blame and pointing the finger.
And so based on recurring facts and info graphics “Entschubladung” contributes towards loosening up often aggressive stereotypical role models and, in a playful way, communicates the subject of what is currently going on in our society to people, especially those who have never really dealt with the topic before. We want more!
